Our Purpose

For The Families

Meet Our Partner Families!

Hello. Our names are Jessica and Martin Melquiades. We have 4 children. Connor (14), Cody (12), Johanna (9), and Roman (4).

Right now all 6 of us are living in a 2 bedroom apartment in Washington County. We moved into this apartment about 6 years ago and there is  numerous things that are not safe in this apartment which makes us needing a home very important. Our 4 children have also been sharing the same bedroom for 6 years, which is just not possible anymore.

My husband and I have dreamed about owning a house forever. We have talked to the bank but with the down payment needed and our income we would never be able to get a decent and safe home or be able to afford the monthly payments. Habitat has given us this opportunity! We honestly had given up all hope of ever being able to give our kids a stable home, so when we found out we qualified as a partner family for Habitat and we were getting a house on Kilbourn in West Bend we couldn’t believe it! It was a dream come true. We are so excited to give our children our first actual HOME. OUR HOME.

Habitat For Humanity has taught us how be more responsible with our money, how to save, how to be more environmentally friendly, how to build homes, and the best part is they have shown us and our kids that good things can happen.  Habitat has changed our life and our kids lives.  The first thing that we are going to do when we move in our house is have friends over! We have never done that before as we have no room. The kids are going to have their friends sleepover and we can be proud of where we live! We are so very grateful and thankful to everyone who has made this possible for our family. We truly have been blessed!

Hi, My name is Jennifer Gonzalez.  I’m a single mom of two wonderful kids (Damion, 12, and Talia, 9).  We are over the moon thankful, grateful, and truly blessed to Habitat for Humanity of Washington & Dodge Counties.  When I thought all hope was lost Habitat for Humanity was my light at the end of the dark tunnel.

Their kindness and willingness to help any way they can is so inspiring. We are so thankful to everyone, our Habitat for Humanity family, my mom and dad, my U.S. Bank work family,  and all the wonderful volunteers and staff, I could go on! You all our truly heaven sent. Thank you for your support.
